Die Dreigroschenoper – The Threepenny Opera – offers titillating entertainment while challenging the audience to take a critical look at society and morality. Kurt Weill and Bertolt Brecht wrote this satirical theatre play with music and full of social criticism in 1928. Even now, one hundred years later, the work remains as acute and topical as it was at its inception.
