Componist en vocalist Amarante Nat brengt in de Nieuwe Kerk haar Outline of a Whisper en Love Songs in Meantone. In dit programma vol liefdesliederen worden de grenzen van harmonie als klankfenomeen onderzocht. “Ik voel me thuis in de poëzie van ruimtes en ik luister door beweging”, aldus Amarante die in haar werken de vocale partijen zelf vertolkt. De stem wordt hierin begeleid door de fraaie combinatie van orgel en klavecimbel door Francesca Ajossa en trombones door Yiannis Bontis en Juan Cancer Navarro.

Amarante Nat Love Songs in Meantone

Amarante Nat studeerde compositie aan het Koninklijk Conservatorium in Den Haag bij Yiannis Kyriakides en Martijn Padding en zang bij Noa Frenkel. In haar composities laat Amarante zich leiden door klank, ruimte en beweging. Ze schrijft voornamelijk voor akoestische instrumenten met een focus op orgel, koperblazers, stem, strijkkwartet en orkest. Haar werk is onder andere uitgevoerd door het Residentie Orkest en op het Orgelpark, Dag in de Branding, DeSingel Antwerpen, Muziekgebouw aan ’t IJ, Gaudeamus Festival, TivoliVredenburg, Eye Filmmuseum en STUK Leuven.
