“Environments is actually a kind of requiem,” Adriaansz remarked in an interview with NRC newspaper. “The piece is an ode to ideals from the past century that were unable to survive today’s high-speed digital culture.”

Ensemble Klang is very familiar with the work of this unique Dutch composer, and their recording of Environments was met with critical acclaim. The concert is an intense experience, with the audience seated around the musicians, rather than facing them.
