Video: Welcome to Open Amare
October 2024, video
Have you heard of Open Amare, the programme in our public spaces that is always free of charge? There’s always something to do at Open Amare, and it’s also a vibrant meeting place. It’s alive! Discover the energy of Open Amare in the video.
“I am recovering from a heavy fall, and I need to move around a bit. So they said: you don't have to dance! You can dance. It's all free. And very cosy.” That's what visitor Kay Schrage says about the monthly dance afternoon of Het Danspaleis.
“It's alive!” laughs Gudrun Blok. As a jazz singing student at the Royal Conservatoire, she performs on a Friday afternoon at the Tribunetrap as part of the School for Young Talent Lunch Concerts. “What I like about Amare is that there is always something happening every day and at any time. Sometimes there are dance lessons or performances in the Brasserie or lunch concerts.”
What makes Open Amare so special is that we can give various partners and organisations from The Hague a space in our building. Diogo Noguerira, organiser of an all-style breakdance battle at the Tribunetrap, explains this nicely: “Today we are here in Amare with The Groove Get Down. Together we came up with the idea to organise this all-style battle to give that community a big push in The Hague. Amare has made a big contribution by making the space available. And making us feel at home here. We are super grateful to Amare for this opportunity. Everyone is having a great time.”
