Redo – Redouan Ait Chitt, to give him his full name – won the most prestigious dancing award in the Netherlands, de Zwaan, in 2019. This great honour was all the more remarkable for the fact that Redo is a breakdancer. A world-famous breakdancer, certainly, but no breakdancer had ever won such a prestigious award in the Netherlands before.
Top dancers
Redouan Ait Chitt was born with several physical disabilities. However, he has never allowed that to negatively affect his life. With his life motto of “No limits, no excuses,” he is a role model for many children and youths. Redo is developing the Make Some Noise jam sessions in collaboration with Haags Hiphopcentrum and the Royal Conservatoire. Although he will not be participating as a dancer, he is the motor behind the momentum of Make Some Noise. Get ready to see an ensemble of outstanding young dancers, including Tawatha Steendam, who won the Dansmarathon television contest in October.
The live music and interaction mean that every jam session is unique. With live percussion and jazz music performed by the musicians of the Royal Conservatoire, the best breakers, hip hop dancers, poppers and lockers in the Netherlands will take it to the limit and beyond. Come help urge them on!
