They started as street musicians, united around their passion for sociology, activism and art. The Las Lloronas trio combines acoustic music with slam poetry. Their debut album Soaked, steeped in intimate and feminist poetry, touched thousands of listeners. Now they are back with their new album Out of the Blue which is even stronger, bolder and very moving.

This Brussels-based women’s trio Las Lloronas loves “small cafés, village squares, the warmth of a living room”. In such familiar intimacy, their melancholic three-part harmony blossoms optimally. But musicians like Lhasa de Sela, Noname and Ibeyi also inspire their overwhelming concerts full of feminist poetry. Then Spanish folk and playful hip-hop fuse with ladino and blues influences, experience with Las Lloronas “A moment of powerful vulnerability, on the border of lament, daydream and battle cry”. Very fittingly they are playing on 8th and 9th March, to celebrate International Women’s Day.
