Let yourself be transported to the enchanting Canterbury. We are in 16th century England, a landscape so breathtaking that it inspired the medieval writer Geoffrey Chaucer around 1400 to create his famous work, The Canterbury Tales

Programme

Engelse madrigalen van Gibbons, Tallis en Ward

William Knight nieuw werk

It's also the birthplace of some of the greatest English Renaissance composers: Orlando Gibbons, Thomas Tallis, and John Ward. Guided by Chaucer's epic book, Renaissance specialist Peter Phillips, founder of The Tallis Scholars, brings to life their most beautiful madrigals and motets with the Netherlands Chamber Choir. These works are interwoven with newly written miniature compositions by the English composer William Knight
