Violinist Alexandra Bons-Mashina is a versatile artist, active as a soloist, chamber musician and orchestra member. After coming to the Netherlands, she quickly developed into a remarkable young talent, with awards at various international competitions. Her artistic education was partly influenced by greats such as Wolfgang Marschner, Natalia Morozova, Leonidas Kavakos, Ilya Grubert and Johannes Leertouwer.
Alexandra regularly performs as a soloist and chamber musician, including with her own Calliope String Trio, and fulfills the role of first violinist with the Residentie Orkest.
As co-founder and artistic producer of the Podium Calliope Foundation, Alexandra, together with her husband Marco Bons (conductor and music teacher), is a driving force behind numerous cultural, social and educational projects. Together they play an important role in both the organization and the performances of the renowned Noordeinde Nocturne festival in The Hague every year.
Alexandra uses her talent to introduce young children to the magical world of music. With her passion and expertise, she knows how to inspire and involve even the little ones in the musical sound world, sparking their love for music at an early age.
