The Nederlands Blazers Ensemble yearns, whispers, weeps and tugs the heartstrings with The Strong Women of Berlioz, a performance that sees NBE following in the footsteps of the eccentric composer.

The revolutionary Symphonie Fantastique revolves around a strong but unattainable woman in a story full of obsession, madness, jealousy and murder. In La Mort de Cléopâtre, Cleopatra – a strong and fearless woman – chooses suicide over imprisonment, thus taking her fate into her own hands.

Specially for NBE, these masterfully orchestrated compositions have been transformed into a spectacular wind ensemble arrangement. A powerful female voice adds a dash of femininity to this expressive performance, bursting with drama, longing and tragedy.
