Programme

Matembezi Fest offers a dynamic program full of cultural experiences. Enjoy traditional Kenyan dance, live music and spectacular acrobatics. Participate in interactive workshops, discover cultural showcases and be enchanted by storytellers. There will be face painting for the little ones, while visitors can explore craft stalls and sample authentic East African food. A day full of color, rhythm and tradition!

Matembezi Fest, a vibrant celebration of Kenyan culture, takes place on 19 April 2025 at Amare Theatre, The Hague. The event features traditional dance, music, acrobatics, interactive workshops, cultural showcases, face painting and storytelling. Visitors can enjoy authentic Kenyan and East African cuisine and explore craft stalls. Matembezi Fest offers a dynamic platform to experience and celebrate Kenya’s rich heritage in the Netherlands.
