’muziekbeestjes’' is an interactive and kinetic sound installation. The work consists out of
sculptural instruments and moving elements. The sculptural instruments are originated from
existing objects and have intrinsic characters. The visitor steps into a somewhat dark
atmosphere where the work invites them to explore, to play and to create new compositions
by watching and listening. In addition, I also perform with the kinetic installation to give the
audience an insight into the possibilities of the work. The creature-like instruments are
making acoustic sounds and colourful objects are moving around.
Milu Chen, also known as muli, is fascinated by making art with an interdisciplinary approach. At the heart of muli’s artistic passion lies the ability to shape entire universes, where imagination knows no bounds. There are endless possibilities to combine with a diverse array of compositions. These exist out of color, form, texture, movement, sound and scent. She often finds joy in melding these elements to infuse life into the otherwise lifeless. Her enthusiasm about the new found must be shared with her audience tries to transmit this wonder into their reality.
The driving force behind muli’s artistic practice emerges from the recognition that many adults are beaten by the complexities of daily life. They often filter playing out of their systems, since this got supplanted by their insular routines. muli steadfastly believes that play transcends age, serving chemical reactions in the brain to create fresh viewpoints and awareness of cognitivity. Through her art, she endeavors to renew open-mindedness, awaken happiness, and guide individuals back to the curiosity of their inner child. Her most current works are installations, illustrations, performances & video works.
