Amare as a free space

A large part of Amare is always open to visitors: 7 days a week, from 7:30 to 23:00. Everyone is welcome to use the free space in our building.

You are welcome to dance, to study, to relax – whatever you want.  Just like on a square or in a park, you are allowed to make noise. Make sure you respect other people and the programming of Amare.

We ask you to treat other people in Amare with respect, and to follow the instructions of our staff. For example, we can ask you to make room for an activity that we organise ourselves. It is not possible to make reservations, or to organise paid activities or lessons in our public space.

The free space of Amare consists of the ground floor including the Kunstenplein, the Tribunetrap (big stairs) and if available also the space above the big stairs. The boundaries of the free space are marked with barriers.

Playing the piano in Amare
On the ground floor at the Tribunetrap you will find a public piano. As part of Open Amare we happily invite you to play it! You can play the piano freely between 13:00 and 18:00, unless there are events or other activities. Outside these times you can ask for the key at the Info & Tickets desk. The Ticket desk manages the playing of the piano and reserves the right to stop the playing of the piano.
