As a 'young veteran', this Cape Verdean-Portuguese singer and multi-instrumentalist knows better than anyone how to bring a fresh sound that is rooted in the music of the Atlantic islands. After years of performing with Cesária Évora, Miroca Paris has now also gained a place in the spotlight with his own music, which is characterized by Afro groove, fantastic guitar playing and wonderful percussion solos.

Miroca Paris is known among connoisseurs as Cesária Évora's innovative percussionist, 'The Barefoot Diva', with whom he played for over a decade. Encouraged by Évora, Miroca took the step to share his own music, which he and his band are now successfully doing on stages worldwide. Not only does he bring us infectious percussion solos, but as a genius multi-instrumentalist he also captures you with his own compositions, ranging from rousing Afro grooves to penetrating melancholy vocals.

With his warm, raw voice and energetic performance, Miroca knows how to captivate the audience during his live performances. Miroca Paris guarantees a good dose of 'creole vibes', recognizable for lovers of African, Caribbean and South American music.

Does Miroca look familiar to you? You may have seen him recently in Cesária Évora's documentary to which he was invited by IDFA 22 as a special guest. Or do you know him from VPRO Free Sounds, rave reviews in ao. Jazzism, or his collaborations with e.g. Sara Tavares, Mariza, Angelique Kidjo, Bitori, and even Madonna.
