Serge Aimé Coulibaly is a dancer and choreographer from Burkina Faso. He was born in Bobo Diou- lasso, and has worked in Europe and the rest of the world since 2002. His inspiration is rooted in African culture and his art is committed to the necessity of powerful contemporary dance. C La Vie marks a new step in his brilliant, socially engaged and vibrant oeuvre. Following in the footsteps of traditional initiation stories, this new piece is nevertheless entirely contemporary in its blend of bodies, voices, music and video. 

Brilliant, socially engaged and vibrant choreography

Nine performers convene on stage, as in a public square where anything can happen and nothing is ever lost. From there they gaze at our world and our life, in all its complexity. The core of their initiation journey is personal encounter: with one another, with music, with reality, with time, with the planet, with a lover. That’s how Coulibaly invites us to ponder our choices as a human being: how do we give meaning to our lives?
