The dazzlingly talented singer Maria Warenberg presents some fabulous arias. The sparkling musical fireworks composed by Haydn, Mozart and Rossini meet their match in this radiant musical star.

Programme

One Minute Symphony
Haydn Scena di Berenice
Mozart Symfonie nr. 39
Haydn Se non piange un’infelice uit L’isola disabitata
Haydn Symfonie nr. 49 ‘La Passione’
Rossini Ouverture ‘La scala di seta’
Rossini Una voce poco fa uit ‘Il barbiere di Siviglia’

This evening the Residentie Orkest goes stratospheric with mezzo soprano Maria Warenberg. This home-grown opera talent will treat the audience to the most wonderful arias by 18th century masters, including Haydn’s Scena di Berenice and Rossini’s Una voce poco fa from ‘Il barbiere di Siviglia’. And that’s just some of the musical fireworks set to blaze bright this evening.

Warenberg’s vocal talents are on full display this evening, with Amare’s principal guest conductor Richard Egarr in charge. There will be drama and delirium in Scena di Berenice, as the heartbroken Berenice desperately pleads for her lost lover.  Haydn’s Se non piange un’infelice from ‘L’isola disabitata’ is similarly emotional, full of sadness but also technical refinement. This is followed by two symphonies: Haydn’s experimental La Passione and Mozart’s Symphony No. 39. Finally, the evening concludes with Rossini. First an overture from the light-hearted La scala di seta, with its dynamic crescendos and playful melodies, followed by the evening’s sparkling gem: the brilliant Una voce poco fa. Tender, charming, and then suddenly: bravura.
