Rosa Brunello

Created in a time when opportunities for direct human contact and live performances were limited, Sounds Like Freedom reflects the collective experience of navigating this strange time. Rosa drew inspiration from collaborations with various artists, each bringing something unique to the mix. Sounds Like Freedom celebrates the freedom and richness of mutual connection and shared experiences.



Sounds Like Freedom is the second release from LA-based record label, Domanda Music. It was recorded in September 2021 in Verona, Italy and features collaborations with UK Jazz star Yazz Ahmed, Arabic experimental music pioneer Maurice Louca, and Italian drumming sensation Marco Frattini.The album captures spontaneous improvisations that have been thoughtfully post-produced by bass player Rosa Brunello, who also co-founded the label with Tommaso Cappellato.

Rosa Brunello is currently working on a new release that will be released later this year. This new work is a natural follow-up to Sounds Like Freedom. In addition to the ever-present Yazz Ahmed, Maurice Louca and Marco Frattini, this time British saxophonist Tamar 'Collocutor' Osborn, trombonist Luca Tapino and guitarist Enrico Terragnoli will also participate. Three musicians who have previously worked with Rosa on various live performances.
