With their unique blend of Bahia’s vibrant energy and a fresh, authentic sound, the trio of Francisco Gil, João Gil, and José Gil have made waves across the globe. In 2018, they began their promising career under a name as obvious as it was ingenious: a tribute to their father and grandfather Gilberto Gil, one of the most prestigious composers of the Música Popular Brasileira (MPB). 

After a strong series of releases, including the hits Várias Queixas and Devagarinho, the band released their debut album Pra Gente Acordar. This album is a major highlight of their career and earned them nominations for prestigious awards, including the Latin Grammy, Prêmio Multishow, Prêmio da Música Brasileira (PMB) and the Faz Diferença Award. Gilsons have played at all the major festivals in Brazil, including Lollapalooza, Coala and Rock in Rio, where they shared the stage with Jorge Aragão. They continue to captivate audiences worldwide with their infectious energy and innovative take on MPB.
