Get ready for an evening full of masterpieces in Amare, where the Residentie Orkest is performing with two very special musical guests: the much-lauded conductor Elena Schwarz and the world-famous pianist Nelson Goerner. The orchestra explores the national identities of three composers: Polish modernism, Finnish Romanticism and French sophistication.

The concert begins with Grażyna Bacewicz’s energetic Overture, a sparkling work of rhythm and power. Next, soloist Nelson Goerner shines with Chopin’s Piano Concerto No. 2, a romantic masterpiece suffused with the composer’s signature virtuosity and poetic depth. This concert marks the world-famous pianist’s long-awaited return to the Residentie Orkest. Sibelius’s Symphony No. 1 is a powerful work inspired by Russian classic traditions, and reflects deep human emotions. The orchestra is led by Schwarz, with her characteristic precision and flair. With this unique combination of conductor, soloist and orchestra, the music is certain to stir the heart and inspire the soul.
