For a greater sound and a deeper experience, come to RO NOW, where the Residentie Orkest offers a short but powerful immersion in the most amazing symphonic music. With the help of the orchestra, presenter Christiaan Kuyvenhoven begins by offering a few stimulating examples and explanations to give you some insight into the unique compositions about to be performed. As for the concert itself: expect music that will surprise, touch and enthral you. Stick around in the lobby afterwards, where live music, a refreshment on the house and a convivial atmosphere complete the evening

Richard Strauss’ Suite from Schlagobers, which he composed to celebrate his sixtieth birthday, transports you to a Viennese bakery full of musical treats. This rarely performed two-part ballet is a light-hearted, cheerful and charming masterpiece, and tonight marks its first performance by the Residentie Orkest. In short, a unique chance to experience this rare composition! After these musical delicacies, Johann Strauss Jr. takes over with the irresistible energy of his Unter Donner und Blitz (Thunder and Lightning), a musical storm full of humour and flair. Concluding the concert is one of his most famous waltzes, The Blue Danube. All in all, this is a night when Viennese traditions are brought to life under glittering chandeliers.
