De Frans-Libanese trompettist en componist Ibrahim Maalouf is een van ’s werelds grootste jazzmuzikanten. Hij slaat op virtuoze wijze een brug tussen jazz, Arabische en klassieke muziek, wat resulteert in een uniek en herkenbaar geluid. Nu presenteert Maalouf KALTHOUM, een tribute tournee ter ere van het 10-jarig jubileum van het gelijknamige album.

The gold-certified album is an ambitious reinterpretation of one of the most iconic masterpieces by the Egyptian diva Alf Leila Wa Leila (A Thousand and One Nights). Surrounded by a virtuoso jazz quintet, Ibrahim reimagines this legendary work, infusing it with depth and modernity, shaped by his own artistic sensitivity.

With KALTHOUM, Ibrahim not only honored a musical icon but also a major feminist and political figure whose legacy continues to resonate today.
