After an amazing first edition we are back with another Forró Encantado evening and this time: King’s Day Edition. In co-production with Amare, Forró Den Haag presents a cultural experience from the Northeast of Brazil! A program including a Forró dance workshop, a crash course for complete beginners, a vinyl DJ set followed by a concert with a live band.

Programme

Forró Introduction Crash Course with Bruna Azevedo (19:30 - 20:00)
The evening will start with a complete beginners crash course, led by Bruna Azevedo, forró teacher based in The Hague. In this 30 min introduction to Forró, you will be able to learn the basic steps allowing you to dance the night away.

Vinyl set by DJ Miss Brown (20:00 - 21:00 & 23:00 - 01:00)
Trish Preston, a.k.a DJ Miss Brown, is a professional dancer and has been spinning vinyls for over 20 years, blending her eclectic musical upbringing and experience from London's late 80s and early 90s underground club scene.

Concert with Derico Alves & Forró Sapecado (21:00 - 23:00)
Enjoy an unforgettable night with Derico Alves and Forró Sapecado, a group that brings authentic Brazilian forró with a modern and vibrant approach. With experienced musicians who have shared the stage with legends of Brazilian music, such as Dominguinhos and Gilberto Gil, we promise a performance full of energy, joy and contagious rhythm.

Complete your Forró experience with an intermediate Forró Workshop with Yse Góes (17:30-18:30 Amare Studio)

Dancer, choreographer, and physical education teacher, Yse has dedicated 23 years to dance. Originally from Florianópolis, Brazil, she currently leads the Porto Roots project in Espinho, Portugal, offering weekly classes. If you attend the main forró festivals, you've likely crossed paths with her, one of the pioneers in teaching this style.

Practical information
The intermediate dance workshop will take place in the Amare Studio on Sat 1 Mar at 16:30, prior to Forró Encantado. For this workshop you need to buy a ticket. You can add this in the order process when you buy a ticket for Forró Encantado.
