A Sunday morning to savour: with Elgar’s intimate cello lines to Ravel’s ecstatic Boléro, and Debussy’s sun-drenched Iberia in between.

Programme

Elgar Celloconcert
Debussy Iberia uit ‘Images’
Ravel Boléro

Start your Sunday with music that transports you to other parts of the world. The serene and emotional sounds of Elgar’s Cello Concerto, performed by the incredible cello player Leonard Elschenbroich, invite you to indulge in contemplation. Led by the inspiring chief conductor Jun Märkl, the Residentie Orkest rolls out a carpet of warm and rich melodies. This music not only touches the heart but feels like a story to which only you know the words.

Cloakroom and drink
Cloakroom and an intermission drink are included. If the event does not have an intermission, you will receive the drink afterwards.

Next, Debussy and Ravel take you south. In Iberia Debussy conjures up a sun-drenched landscape full of colour and rhythm. You can feel the sultry air and hear the sounds of vibrant Spain. The concert concludes with Ravel’s masterly Boléro. The hypnotic cadence draws you in and propels you up, leaving you completely energised by the morning’s end. This is a Sunday morning to forget all about time and to let yourself be swept along by music that is touching, inspiring, and uplifting.
