The story’s hero is the young Odiezee, appealingly acted by Vera Fisilier as a character balancing between being sensible and spontaneous. Musical waves crash across the stage with compositions by Anne-Maartje Lemereis: a seaworthy soundtrack accompanying the scenes, alternating with exciting rhythms. The performers weave their voices through the music with powerful harmonies, creating an intriguing mini universe. The décor plays an important role, harbouring various locations. The result is a pocket-sized Odyssey.

In this reworking of the Odyssey by Abdelkader Benali, a young girl shares a third-floor flat with her 3 mothers. She is worried about the climate and increasing sea level, and is soon nicknamed ‘O! die! Zee!’ (Oh! the! Sea!). She misses her father, who is out at sea saving people’s lives. Odiezee wants to phone him, but her mothers won’t let her. He’s too busy, too far away, not to be disturbed. So Odiezee decides to go find him. The journey takes her past foamy youths and a terrifying eye to Circe’s take-away. It is a journey in which she not only discovers her own courage, but also realizes what truly matters.
